In addition to translating German texts into English, I also provide detailed and holistic proofreading of English texts.
Proofreading falls into one of two categories:
1) English texts translated from German: this involves a thorough side-by-side review of the German source text and the English target text.
2) English source texts written by non-native speakers: as a C2 level (proficient) user of German, I can identify why mistakes have been made by non-native speakers. With my proven flair for language, I can correct these errors.
Proofreading projects are calculated per standard page – 1,650 characters including spaces – as defined by the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ).
I do not proofread texts created using machine translation.
